Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO) is a vegetable oil extracted from the seeds (kernels) of the oil palm fruit. Unlike crude palm oil (CPO), which is obtained from the fruit’s flesh, CPKO is rich in lauric acid and medium-chain fatty acids, giving it a composition similar to coconut oil.
CPKO is Light yellow and semi-solid at room temperature, and widely used across multiple industries. It serves as a key feedstock for oleochemicals, including soaps, detergents, and personal care products.
Crude Palm Kernel Oil is originated 100% from vegetable-based oil.
It is also used in food applications, animal feed, and biofuel production. Additionally, CPKO can be processed into RBD Palm Kernel Oil and RBD Palm Kernel Olein for further industrial uses such as manufacturing soap noodles and lauric acid derivatives.
At Mars Oleochemicals, we supply high-purity, unrefined CPKO exported directly from Malaysia and Indonesia. Our oil meets international quality standards, making it ideal for global manufacturers seeking consistent, reliable supply.
Crude Palm Kenel Oil can be used directlyin soap manufacture or processed into Oleochemicals such as fatty acids and alkyl esters before being made into final products.
Applications : Oleochemicals, soaps, food additives, animal feed, and biofuels.
Crude Palm Kernel Oil is from 100% Natural Tropical Vegetable Origin from Malaysia.

Source : Crude Palm Kernel Oil (CPKO) is extracted from the kernels (seeds) of the oil palm fruit, not the flesh. These kernels are harvested from the oil palm tree (Elaeis guineensis), which produces both palm oil and palm kernel oil as distinct products.
Extraction : The extraction process begins with the separation of the kernels from the palm fruit. These kernels are then cleaned, dried, and mechanically pressed to extract the oil. Unlike crude palm oil, CPKO is derived solely from the hard inner seed, resulting in a different composition and set of properties.
Composition : CPKO is a light yellow to pale brown oil with a high content of lauric acid and medium-chain triglycerides (MCTs), making it chemically similar to coconut oil. It is typically semi-solid at room temperature and contains a high proportion of saturated fats, making it stable and long-lasting.
Processing : Crude Palm Kernel Oil is minimally processed to retain its natural qualities. The crude form is typically used as a raw feedstock for further processing like hydrogenation or fractionation. It may later be refined to produce RBD Palm Kernel Oil for use in food, cosmetics, and industrial applications.
Refining : CPKO undergoes refining, bleaching, and deodorizing (RBD) processes to improve its appearance, shelf life, and functional properties. Refined versions are widely used in the manufacture of soap noodles, personal care products, and various oleochemical derivatives.
CPKO is used in processed foods, including confectionery coatings, non-dairy creamers, and margarine, thanks to its sharp melting profile and stability. It can also act as a cocoa butter substitute in certain formulations.
Due to its high lauric acid content, CPKO is a valuable feedstock in the oleochemical industry for producing fatty acids, glycerine, soaps, and surfactants. It's a key raw material in detergents, cosmetics, and personal care products.
Defatted palm kernel cake, a byproduct of oil extraction, is commonly used in livestock feed, while CPKO itself may be included in high-energy animal diets.
CPKO is gaining traction as a renewable resource for biofuels, bioplastics, and green chemicals, aligning with global sustainability goals.
