Isopropyl Myristate (IPM) is the ester of isopropyl alcohol and myristic acid. It is an emollient widely used in cosmetics, personal care, and topical pharmaceutical products where enhanced skin absorption is desired. With its oily base and low viscosity, IPM adapts well to the skin, providing a smooth, non-greasy feel.
In cosmetic formulations, IPM acts as a lubricant, surface tension modifier, thickening agent, and moisturizer, giving products a slicker, smoother texture without an oily residue. It also serves as a solvent, binder, and diluent in perfumes and food flavorings.
Beyond cosmetics, Isopropyl Myristate (IPM) is used as an emulsifier and in treatments for head lice, as well as in flea and tick control products for pets.
Isopropyl Myristate - IPM 98 is used in many personal care and cosmetics products. Isopropyl Myristate is 100% originated from Palm Kernel Oil and Coconut Oil base.
Isopropyl Myristate IPM-98 is from 100% Natural Tropical Vegetable Palm Kernel Oil and Coconut Oil origin and is Kosher certified.

Isopropyl Myristate (IPM-98) is a colorless, oil-like liquid with little to no odor, used primarily as an emollient in cosmetics and topical pharmaceutical formulations where efficient skin absorption is required. It is an ester formed from isopropyl alcohol and myristic acid, both derived from natural vegetable sources. IPM is water-insoluble and contributes to thickening formulations, helping beauty products achieve a richer, denser texture.
Isopropyl Myristate is composed of isopropyl alcohol and myristic acid, a common, naturally occurring fatty acid. Isopropyl Myristate is commercially produced by distillation, before which the esterification of myristic acid and isopropanol is carried out and the resulting alkali is refined to neutralize the catalyst and the product is then distilled to obtain Isopropyl Myristate.
Acts as an emollient, thickener, and lubricant, locking in moisture and enhancing the penetration of active ingredients. It effectively solubilizes lanolin, making it ideal for anhydrous skin lotions with high lanolin content. Leaves skin soft and smooth without an oily feel.
Functions as a hydrating agent and emollient, moisturizing the hair and scalp while improving ingredient absorption.
Used as a gentle, oil-based remover suitable for regular makeup and grease paint.
Serves as a carrier for fragrances in perfumes and colognes, aiding even scent dispersion and prolonging fragrance longevity.
